- Historic home of the Merrick Family where, George Merrick, the developer and founder of the city Coral Gables grew up.
- Coral Gables Museum
- Housed in the restored and expanded Old Police and Fire Station coral rock building, the Coral Gables Museum presents historical exhibits and programs.
- Cuban Heritage Collection, University of Miami
- comprises the largest repository of materials on Cuba outside of the island. The collection includes published works, contemporary books, journals, artist books, newspapers, personal papers, correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, audio-visuals content, maps, ephemera, and digital collections.
- Deering Estate
- The Deering Estate (1920s) preserves the Miami bay front estate of Charles Deering, a known “Chicago industrialist, early preservationist, environmentalist, art collector, philanthropist, and first chairman of the International Harvester Company.”
- Diaz-Ayala Cuban and Latin American Popular Music Collection
- Extensive collection of popular Cuban and other Latin music housed at FIU’s Green Library. The collection includes LP’s, cassettes, 78 rpms, radio programs, sheet music, books, CDs, photographs, and other materials.
- Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden Archives and Natural History Collection
- The Fairchild Library, founded in 1939, encompasses historical works and current research of the Garden’s extensive tropical botanic collection.
- Florida International University Special Collections & Archives
- FIU Special Collections & Archives collect rare and unique materials pertaining to the geographic and cultural regions of Latin America, the Caribbean, Miami, and Florida, and serves as repository of the University’s records.
- Freedom Tower
- Downtown Miami landmark, the original home of The Miami News in 1925, became the “Freedom tower” to Cuban refugees in 1962. Now managed by Miami Dade College, it boasts a collection of over 1,900 items of various media and contains the Cuban Exile Experience & Cuban Diaspora Cultural Legacy Gallery.
- Gesu Catholic Church
- Founded in 1896, it is the oldest Catholic church in South Florida. The original wood building proved too small and the stunning present-day church, with German polychromed crystal leaded windows and Italian marble, was built in 1922.
- Haitian Heritage Museum
- Founded in 2004 to commemorate Haiti’s Bicentennial, the museum preserves Haiti’s rich culture and provides a space for Haitian art, music, and literary works.
- Historic Hampton House
- Iconic motel located in Miami-Dade County’s Brownsville Neighborhood where influential African American entertainment and civil rights figures visited and performed during the 1950’s, 60’s and 70s.
- Historic Homestead Town Hall Museum
- Housed in the city’s original 1917 Town Hall, the Museum contains historical artifacts and archives of the city of Homestead.
- Historic Virginia Key Beach Park
- Placed on the National Register of Historic Places and given a Florida Historical Marker in 2002, the beach opened in 1945 as a “colored only” beach thanks to the efforts of local civil rights activists. Currently, the beach is a multicultural park open to all people.
- HistoryMiami Museum and Research Center
- The Museum’s collections document Miami, South Florida, and the Caribbean. The Research Center houses HistoryMiami’s archives and non-circulating library.
- Jewish Museum of Florida
- Housed in two restored synagogue buildings in Miami Beach, the Museum holds 250 years of Florida Jewish history, culture, and arts, with a collection of over 100,000 items.
- Miami Beach Botanical Garden
- Originally the site of Carl Fisher’s 1920s golf course, the Garden sits on three acres and features a variety of South Florida native plants, orchids, flowering trees, palms and a Japanese garden.
- Miami Beach Historical Society
- The Association promotes Miami Beach history, preservation, and encourages scholarly research of the area.
- Miami Dade College Archives
- The College Archives documents include photographs, documents, audio-visual materials of the history of Miami Dade College from its founding in 1960.
- Miami Springs Historical Society
- Founded in 1987, the Society preserves the culture and history of Miami Springs. Its museum honors Glen Curtiss and James L. Bright who in the 1920s bought Miami Springs and what would later become Virginia Gardens, Hialeah, and OpaLocka.
- St. Thomas University Archives & Exhibits
- houses the University’s Archives, Special Collections, Digital Collections, and includes the Archbishop John C. Favalora Archive & Museum that chronicles the Archdiocese of Miami.
- Spanish Monastery
- Archives and preserves the history of the Monastery, a Romanesque style 12th century Spanish monastery from Sacramenia, Segovia in Spain, dismantled and rebuilt in Miami.
- Vasari Project
- documents Miami-Dade County’s art history from 1945 to the present by collecting documentation (rather than original works of art), including correspondence, press clippings, photographs, posters, books, exhibition catalogs, artists’ files, oral histories and other ephemeral materials.
- Vizcaya Museum and Gardens Archives
- The Archives holds photographs, manuscripts, correspondence, and architectural drawings and blueprints documenting the life of James Deering and the design and construction of the Vizcaya Estate.
- Wolfson Florida Moving Image Archives
- Housed in Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus, the Archives holds over 35,000 hours of video tape and 23 million feet of film documenting Florida history.
- Wolfsonian Museum Library
- Houses 125,000 rare books, periodicals, reference materials, special archives, and ephemeral items. The museum’s collection focuses on North America and European decorative arts, propaganda, architecture, and industrial and graphic design dating from 1850-1950.
